Studies on the Effect of Streptomycin on the Klebsiella Phage-Host Cell System

Abstract
The streptomycin did not give any influence to the phage activity itself and the adsorption of phage to. normal host cells.
When the streptomycin resistance of host bacteria is lower grade, the EOP was similar to or a little lower than that of normal host bacteria. The phage plaque, however, did not appear when the drug resistance of bacteria is relatively higher grade.
The phage could not adsorb to the host bacteria of which streptomycin resistance is higher. The phage could not multiply even though the drug resistance of host cells is recovered.
The antigenicity of phage passed through the streptomycin resistant-host bacteria was a little different from that of normal phage. The streptomycin resistance of host bacteria resistant to the phage action was similar to that of normal host.
